In a similar note anthropologists were confused about the Mayan corn diet which lacks some key minerals. However Mayan cooks buried the corn in dirt ovens to cook for hours & the oven's wood ashes provided the missing minerals.

Great point, but just like the "Mayans are surrounded by unexplainable architecture but they were definitely cooking in dirt" hypostasis sounds suspicious, the "eating rabbits only will starve you" hypothesis seems presumptuous without any proof. I did recently hear a vegan literally starved herself though. I've been raising these huge silver fox rabbits, and they are loaded with fat. Not sure if they would be viable wild, but literally huge handfuls of fat in each mature rabbit.
