It sounds like your use case is less about anonymity and more about mundane things like getting around the airport WiFi tracking/vulnerabilities. Which is cool, not everyone needs to be anon. Proton is fine for that use case :).

THIS. I use it when I leave my house and connect to WiFi that I do not own. I also use it at my house when I do bitcoin related things. That's it. It's not so much about privacy for me as it is for security. 🤙
