As far as I know, no. God can play any role, but we cannot play Him. Each time people tried this it ended up in flames, war and destruction. Maybe there's a lesson in this, probably not fully learned.
I think about it like this: God is the ultimate reality, JC is the best model for humans and Holy Spirit is the "telephone" between the two and between Him and all of His creatures. This model is also wrong but for the sake of metaphors I'm happy to play with it for a while.
Jews think there's a better model than JC to come, that's why they don't recognize his role. Christians are the sacrificial lamb in this story. Muslims on the other hand might have started as a protest for all the editing done during 0 and ~600 AD in early Christianity, but I'm still searching to see if this theory has any ground at all.
Think of how bitcoin started and then how many people tried to change it over the years to fit their agendas. It the same story all over again. This time is different though. 😅
