I actually don’t recommend folks go without a phone. Phones are increasingly important parts of protests. Telling the story is important.
But don’t take your primary phone, get a burner phone, use a new pre-paid number. Ideally leave it at a place which isn’t your home but if you do take it home, turn it off. And make sure there’s disappearing messages turned on for everything.
Phones are a massive point of centralised risk. Can foresee this becoming a go-to attack vector for govts soon
