Yeah still unsure if it would work for that sync watching. But yeah there has been a couple of movie nights on zap.stream and hopefully more in the future:)

How can I get notified when movie nights happen? Would love to watch a flick and shoot the shit sometime.

I'll try and repost any I see to the n/movie community page.
But yeah, notifications for eg a hashtag like #movienights in this case and other stuff would be great in general on nostr.
