Wtf PCs are so expensive, the same PC bought more than 2.5 years ago is selling at more than 1.5 times the price! What happened to technology being deflationary!

The opportunities presenting themselves make the tech hardware costly. Because you can do more with it now than before.

is it cause of the RAM cost thingy?

I dont think its just that, even my graphic card costs more than my whole pc used to cost

Thanks AI 😮‍💨

I'm waiting for Nvidia to announce they are exiting the consumer market 😂

These consumer tech companies dont care. About consumers anymore

So um, NVIDIA I think it was, they said that they will no longer be supplying chips for computers.

It's all going to openAI so they can use it for more data centres and processing power.

All the other manufacturers doubled their prices within hours of the announcement and retailers are also charging more now because they know consumers are going to be desperate

RAM manufacturer Crucial was shut down, and they had one of three RAM fabs for consumers. They went for the AI nonsense now.

Yeah it sucks.

What happened to technology being deflationary! 🤔 Inflation?

Very skewed though

It's Sam Altman's fault.

RAM and graphics card pricing makes me want to grab a laptop and not build like the glory days. Sad to see. AI is consuming the hardware rn.

It's deflationary when you price it in a real currency

Prices will go up forever in fake fiat land
