Since both our SimpleX & Session rooms were DDoS'ed,

And attackers can just make a new key/account with no restriction,

I've been mostly enjoying our Signal group, it's easier to filter out spam. Come through and post good news stories, funny memes, or ask tech questions. It's a good group, people help each other,

You can hide your phone number in the security settings. Or get a bs number from this list:

Or just set up an anon Signal handle that you can give anyone without needing to give your phone number.

Go to Settings and click on profile pic to set it up.

What's with the hashtag?

it just automatically did that

Oh... It's a formatting issue. None of your signal links work man, that's part of the signal link and it's being split out of the URL, it's the end of all your posts with a link to your signal room.

Wait, nvm, what in the world

In your VPN, please add a check that if the "Dowloads" folder in the user home directory does not exist, create it automatically. I could not start any profiles for this reason and had to debug the issue myself.

Ok thank you so much

Signal is kinda lib socialist (openly btw): «we need to filter our spam, so we'll do it via phone number: every person has it, yet has only 1, and one account will be fair and equal for everyone»

SimpleX is kinda lib individualist: «they can create as many accounts as they like, yet they can't see ya unless you want to become visible, and if you wanna become hidden, you can instantly to that»

Session is kinda chaosist: «create as many accounts as you want yoo, we we'll even easen the process»

Threema is kinda market anarchist: «whatever—you can make more account's if you want, but that will cost your 6€ more every time, so you don't want to do it yourself + your spam will make the project even stronger»

weak points on each obvious

I told you, that SimpleX is not secure!

how does threema handle groups?

Decentralized

Groups only exist on members' smartphones. Threema itself cannot see who is a member of a group or what the group is called. Groups can contain up to 256 members.

See also here:

https://threema.ch/en/faq/groupchat

And with Threema, the groups at least work reliably. Every message is there in a second . In contrast to SimplexChat, where the groups are no longer usable after 30 or 40 people because messages only arrive a day later!

Gotcha fair point thanks
