I think the damage already is done. Can’t fix a reputation by cancelling a decision that harmed users… Too bad for them. But good that they finally seem to understand that this really mattered to their users.
Trust has been broken. Not sure they will ever recover from this. I'll always be wondering about that backdoor on the chip that can be exploited.
