Last week I started my gardening season with pre-growing sweet potatoes in pots and I also try to grow one in a waterglass. I started early, so they will have enough time to sprout until it’s warm enough to set them outside! 🌱

🍠 I will check regularly if the pots are moisturized and do not dry. For the potatoe in the water glass, I will check if there’s enough oxygen in the water. For that, I check if there are water bubbles on the sprouting potatoe. 🫧

Looking forward for spring πŸŒ±πŸ’š #gardening #garden #sweetpotatoe #growing

I read that you also planted avocados. Can you give any tips on this?

The method in water worked for me better! My second successful sprout is about to grow at the moment πŸ₯‘πŸŒ± I would use the seed from a bio avocado.

You can poke 3 sticks in it like I did it with my potatoe, or as you can see on the photo, I made a little construction from rubber bands so I don’t have to poke into them! :) make sure the bottle you use is always filled with water, so at least 1/3 of the seed is under water. A few complete waterchanges are great too, but you can mostly just fill it up a little bit :)

When it’s growing, put it on a warm sunny window, maybe south window, and check for humidity, it should not be too low! 🌱πŸ₯‘πŸ’š hope this helps πŸ€— and once it has a good rooting system, pot it in a good soil

πŸ™πŸΌ that sounds doable. I will try this. Thank you so much for sharing Franny πŸ«‚
