Use Damus or Astral to test. Damus you can toggle on off in Global. Astral shows you what relays you are “seeing” posts on.

I’d aim for about 10 relays, a few paid.

In Global, upper right corner is a filter icon (three lines), click that for the Global toggles. #[1]

On the upper right corner of my damus client, I see 51/86

You might be in Notifications. Go to Global (what we are talking about), the third icon on the bottom. When in Global, the upper right icon is three lines for Filter.
