By processed walnuts, what did you do to them? I know they are very hard to crack.

After gathering the nuts I smashed them with a brick (not pictured) to remove the fruit pulp. A walnut is very much like a very firm peach.

I then threw them into a cement mixer with some gravel and let them spin around for about 10 min.

This removes the vast majority of the pulp from the nuts.

If you want perfectly clean nuts then many people will hit them with a pressure washer.

I don't care what they look like so I'll leave them as is. Also the residue is an anti fungal so the walnuts should store for longer.

The walnuts are not yet ready for eating, they need to be allowed to cure anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks in a cool dry place away from critters.
