We run a community of node runners here called #Nodestrich. Most of us started out with zero experience. The best place you can start IMHO is #[4] — they give you step-by-step instructions on what hardware to use and their software is amazing.

Ooh - i run a node on umbrel but almost given up as non tech, old, busy and cant get / keep channels well balanced without costing me to do it ... I am on my way to #Nodestrich
