- Can we build a specialised #nostr client where the best quality content on each hashtag is visible as the top results.
- Objective is to get connected to the like minded people posting under similar hashtag, Connect to the best resources globally as well as to the nearest resources even if they are not the best.
- Helping the discovery of high quality content generators locally and increase their visibility globally.
- Posting with #hashtag and approximate geolocation
- Searching post for #hashtag posts with nearby location and show the nearest 5 recent posts with the same hashtag and 5 all time posts with the same hashtag with highest tips globally for the same hashtag with a time decay to decrease visibility of older posts.
- tipping the posts by viewers and other authors
- increasing the visibility radius searchers of #hashtags to view the posts with more tips
- further increase the visibility radius for searchers of #hashtags if the tips are paid by authors who are already heavily tipped for posts under the same hashtag
- Will this protocol increase the visibility of authors globally if the quality of post is sufficiently high?
Problems are:
1) how to define best quality? What should be the best posts? How to recognize minded people?
Can you do above as a human? If not, computer can not either.
2) If need nearby information, best solution is to create a nearby relay. Publish relay URL to nearby people.
1. The best quality may be decided by multiple number of readers on the same topic who might have went through other contents on the same topic. Their vote on the topic can be decided by the amount of satoshi they tipped for the content and how many number of readers tipped the content
Additional weightage for visibility can be given for authors who are already having posts in the similar topic who are already tipped on the same topic before. Increase the kilometer visibility for the articles based on these weightages and the best quality contents will keep pushing for higher and higher visibility

We are not talking about news here. Think about content about something fundamental like some video which explains einsteins theory of relativity. This can be a topic.
The set of topics can evolve over time and whether or not a topic is to be allowed as a hashtag can be decided at a higher level - may be by the project team.

The unfortunate answer is that I've got so much on my plate, within nostr and in the rest of my life, that I don't have the time to even help design such a thing. But it sounds interesting. There are reporting events (kind 1984) were people tattle on others you might want to use. And there are reactions you might want to use as scoring too. I think it will be unreliable and easily gamed unless it is very well designed, and also many people will not want to participate in disclosing their location (People know I'm in NZ now, but previously all I ever said was that I lived in a volcano lair 2/3rds the way around the world from wherever you are). So there are a lot of challenges.
