I don’t understand why homelessness is a thing? Why can’t we just build homes and help people who need a home?

Most have addictions or mental health issues. SF has been throwing money at the problem for years and it just gets worse.
I’m not sure what they’ve spent that money, it probably wasn’t home for the homeless.
