I wanted to post the following comment to youtube. When I hit send, I got a dialogue box saying, "Keep comments respectful."

Yeah, I kinda get what that was for. :D Here's the whole thing; it was ment to go under a Bellular News video:

HOW TO ENSHITTIFY:

1. Create a product people like.

2. Take investment from random funds and equity.

3. Grow the platform by any means neccessary.

4. Run experiments for monetization.

5. Build and propagate a proper monetization strategy, turning loyal customers and enthusiasts into walking wallets.

6. Go public / IPO.

7. Shift your target audience focus from your loyal users/enthusiasts, that are now but wallets anyway, to share- and stakeholders as their wallets are even fatter.

8. Cry a river when suddenly the project goes sideways as something bad happens.

9. Promise to hit KPI and other monetary targets (aka. headpat the shareholders untill they shut up and open their wallet again)

10. Repeat 7, yearly, untill the bank account goes flat.

11. Increase prices. Repeat 10, otherwise move on.

12. Add buzzworthy feature (i.e. AI). Repeat 7. Otherwise moe on.

13. Tell users they're totally being heared and their criticisim is being taken seriously - and also shredder every incomming mail or email. Implement halfassed updates.

14. Repeat 7 as long as possible. Otherwise move on.

15. Get bought by another company and enjoy a sweet, sweet payday and fuck off into the sunset.
