This is a very GenX flavored post, considering the majority of the IRL boomer hate I hear is actually directed at them. The cohort born 20 years after the baby boom (“early” gen X, like 1960 and up) are usually the ones people hate the most.

The actual chronological baby boomers around me generally worked, have roles that give them a street level view of modern life for us….the gen X’ers are the ones who inherited, or managed their way into a comfy niche and now lecture you about how “ungrateful” you are for turning your nose up at $15/hr for work he made $35/hr for 35 years ago

It's a meme. Don't read too deep. 😒

Also I”ve been meaning to hammer on this GEN soyrace shit after being inundated with “CHEECH AND CHONG HAVE NEW WEED GUMMIES” adverts every time I open my inbox. Gen Xers love pretending they’re the cool, laid back party folk their heroes were 30 years ago while bitching that kids now are stoned out of their minds and lazy as shit.

These guys are clients often enough, and I have to listen to them bemoan the downfall of customer service, quality, and utility on every consumer front while bragging about how they spent THEIR youth getting blazed and being lazy. They even do weed today now that it’s so widely available, but because they’re high up on the managerial/biz food chain nobody holds them accountable.

I’m just tired, I guess. We’re all boomers in the end. Millies are taking forever to grow up and leave childish lifestyles in the past, zoomers are approaching 30 while pretending they’re seventeen forever….. everyone refuses to look at the clock
