More 'blasphemy':

Next year I am going to liquidate 90% of my Bitcoin stack and make a down payment on a house.

Bitcoin is meant to be spent, and home ownership is better than being a renter.

There's no point in stacking sats if you never use it to make your life better.

Many times in the past ten years Bitcoin has saved me and my family from financial hardship, for which I am grateful.

If I could spend those sats directly I would, but since we still live in a fiat world, I'll swap them for cuck bucks and spend those.

You could fund open-source projects or whatever. It is truly a waste...

Sorry mate I have to unfollow . Good day, enjoy your Home

90% for a down payment is crazy lol save up for it

Unless the mortgage payment is like, half the rent so it pays for itself but even then.. 90?!

I did save up for it, in Bitcoin. Now I'm going to spend it. What's the point in holding those sats until you die? Can't take them with you.

Having a home, and still being able to stack a little, sounds like a good life to me. Congratulations 🎉

I was able to spend it directly for our wedding as the owner of the venue wanted to get into Bitcoin and we helped eachother, no fees, no taxes, no income tax, etc. Treated as a cash payment.

That wealthy person now is a great connection I have as they appreciate very much what I did for them. And I also appreciate what they did for me.

This is the spirit.

You can't sleep inside a Bitcoin.

But you can sleep inside a house that nobody can kick you out of or raise rent on you, etc.

More blasphemy: "There are other things in life"

You can spend Bitcoin however you want, and congratulations on hitting your savings goal!

However, mortgage = dead pledge, home ownership is enforced through state violence, and debt is a sin in almost every religion (for both the borrowers and the lenders).

Also, didn’t you say you’d “Been in Bitcoin since 2012”?

I have, but I've also booked profits to pay bills more than once. It's been a long journey. I've survived without a job a few times thanks to Bitcoin. When the Shift debit card was around I spent a shitload of Bitcoin. Got me though some rough times.

Well at any rate, congratulations on hitting a big goal. When I look around at friends and people in my generation there are very few who are even close to having saved up a house down payment. Everyone has different goals and a different time horizon, and I’m happy that you’ll have found success in yours.
