The reality is the bad ones are sometimes really good at stealing resources from the good ones and then using violence to ensure a compliant customer base for their "services".

Yeah, you're right. That's why it's sometimes hard to be optimistic that the future of our species will be different from its past

I'd say we should rely more on our intelligence to counter the violence but humans have shown too many times that even idiot politicians can outsmart them 😁

The only thing I've seen that reduces violence is strong property rights and free trade. I'd say optimize for those two and we are heading in the right direction.
