I feel like federation (lemmy/ kbin etc) is even worse. There really is no reason except convenience for my user account for topic a to be linked with topic b. Fediblock will kill the concept when people start getting defedded en masse for following forbidden topic or following from forbidden instance etc.

I actually think most of the lemmy defeding is over for the most part, there was a lot of it initially. They really hate free speech there.
