As the circle moves horizontally /vertically / diagonally from centre, the total area the any set of diagonally opposed segments stays equal.

I will assume that if you combine these changes the relationship still holds. I ran through some examples and this seems to hold if you split each segments into two triangles because they will always share the base and perpendicular height.

In which case 16+8 = 24 = 10 + X so X = 14
