This doesn't happen with Amethyst, I reply from the notifications and then when I go back to home I find the same point in the feed

Except when you switch to another app in the meantime (e.g. to look something up) and #Amethyst gets closed by android in the meantime sure to low memory. Then you lose both your prepared reply and your point in the main feed 🙄 Been there, got that. Not just once, but several times.
