It’s criminal that I have to call my bank and get approval to spend over $5000 of my own money.

If you've out your currency into the bank, its no longer your currency. I know this sounds like a meme but it is a fact.
I always wonder when reading things like this, what do the staff in the bank think.
Ie do they have any inclination of 'Oh, will I be able to access MY money...' and feel it's shit too.
Or have they either drank too much cool aid - or somehow never managed to question things.
