For those new users coming from X or whatever else, PSA on follower counts:

The people you follow are what makes up your feed. Your feed determines your experience here. There is no algo so keeping an eye on your follower/following count is entirely meaningless. There is no clout to chase down that alley and no one gives a fuck if you have an influencer ratio or whatever. In fact, with our system of relays. Your follower count is often inaccurate anyways!

Just follow who you like. I like to follow liberally so I have an interesting and full feed. Good or bad, your experience here is what YOU make of it, not what some algo decides it should be. Content comes at you in real time from the people you're following.

I'll make it nicer. Hey assholes, no one gives a shit how many followers you have. There's no ad revenue to score. Its strictly getting zapped satoshis on Bitcoin's 2nd layer.
