We went to the farmer's market in Moscow ID today and bought some EB syrup. The guy had a chalkboard with "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries" on it.

The medicine cabinet of country folk as it used to be known in our area.

Elder leaves at a certain time of the year can smell like literal cat piss though . Worth it for the berries and the flowers.
