These people are not going to save you. At most they will distract you for months or years while they continue the agenda.

The left/right politician currently in power is not the real problem, it's a fake dichotomy meant to make people think their vote translates into actuall statecraft.

I plan on saving myself, thank you very much. That doesn’t detract from the fact that I’d rather have a libertarian president (is that fake too?) than a statist one. I’d rather have talk in the streets about money printing and central banks than social benefits. If he considerably reduces the size of the state I’m all for it.

Everything comming from the mouth of politicians is fake, especially if they are running for some office. Wait for him to start reducing the state in meaningful ways before bathing in unwaranted optimism.

Saying the right words doesn't make someone a libertarian. Consider how unlikely it would be for a person wanting to reduce the state to successfully run (i.e. not get whacked) and actually win an election for high office. If not suspicious you may find yourself apologizing for his "surprise" statist moves soon, thinking he's playing 7D chess, or similar cope.
