Fair enough. What we could highlight then is that it's not much used in technology since the non-technological value expels the industry, who prefers cheaper substitute materials.

Gold is seen as a last resort in technology. Material science continually finds alloys that compete with gold.

There are limited applications for gold.

If gold were priced as a nonmonetary commodity, it would be cheap enough to coat entire vehicles in it to fight corrosion.

Gold has great conductivity iirc, let's hope bitcoin solves this monetary premium problem

the amount used on connectors and micro wires is miniscule... not even a microgram on a typical gold plated hdmi connector
