"Insider trading" is what they call it when someone has advanced knowledge of economic numbers or a policy change and trades on that knowledge.

So what do you call it when a president posts a note to all his followers saying "Now is a good time to buy" and then two hours later announces an economic policy change that pumps stocks to their highest single-day rise of the decade?

Wonder if he'll ever tell his followers it's a good day to sell?

Seems like 10% tariffs on everything and a trade war with China is still pretty bad economic news to me, even if it's a bit better than full on global trade war.

I'm not convince it fits the "insider" definition if you literally tell EVERYONE.

I'm old enough to remember when he told EVERYONE about the V-Shaped Recovery. I made stupid money!

That's a good question. Maybe FUD or perspective?

I think he absolutely did it on purpose to start the insider trading narrative and get the media talking about it. It will burn the term into the minds of the people like gaslighting. Others in his administration will bring out actual proof of all the politicians and their insider trading.

Pay attention who bitches about "insider trading." Probably find they were the ones doing the insider trading.
