I just realized something.. if I Repost and someone zaps the repost, the zap goes to the OP, is that correct?

But if I Quote Post, the zap goes to me?

If I am correct, then I want to encourage us all to click on the OP and zap it if you find value in it, rather than just zapping the reposter..

Make sense or am I missing something here?

Repost = shared content

Quote = "original" content that's piggy backed off someone else's content.

A simple repost doesn't really add anything

Sometimes a quote post adds value and deserves a zap. The OP is always there to zap too.

This statement isn't accurate. Without algorithms, our reliance is on users reposting quality content. Quoting with added value is welcome, but if done solely for engagement without contributing, it's disreputable.

Upon re-reading, I disagree, since I find re-posting is often how I see posts I may otherwise miss, and also how I find great people to follow whom I would otherwise not know about.

Either one is kewl imo. Quote if you want some context or flare or commentary, straight repost if you just want to add visibility

Instead of the word "anything" I should have used "content". A repost does help with reach, but doesn't add to or transform the reposted note in any way.
