Have you looked into Regenerative Agriculture (Mark Shepard)? He plants fruit and but trees on contour, then grows veggies or grazes livestock in the alleys between trees. Much more sustainable, much less work once its setup, and it brings in much more income per acre.
Been a fan of his for a few years now. The design I showed is most definitely a regen an design.
