The Medicis were basically behind one of the soundest monies ever in the Florin which is a big part of what allowed the Renaissance to happen, and when the money debased so did they - tale as old as time my friend 🤙

100% The Florin was the cornerstone of the Italian Renaissance. Hardest and most trusted money of the time, mostly due to the fact the Medicis refused to debase it at all costs for 3 to 400 years (until they eventually did, which led to their downfall)
