If you know how to utilise the algorithm, you can get a lot of likes for a sense of self importance. I know from personal experience.

But the question is, what the fuck is the point?

Here is just blatantly more honest. People are incentivised to build actual relationships because there's no algorithm to amplify something for days to gain 100s of likes and new follows.

I personally use social media when I'm procrastinating over work I should be doing. Twitter is like a hook that extends the time I am distracted by doing that by orders of magnitude.

Yes, I found myself wasting gobs of time on Twitter. Here I chat with a few folks and get a feed exactly as I curate it. I’m less likely to doom scroll.

This place is kind of like rehab, I find.
