One of the problems of making single-follow-list clients is that over time it incentives discussions on what the majority can talk about (politics) instead of specialized interests few people care. Nostr has lists, but we are still following the same path. Amethyst has plans to address this and making it easier to go into topical rooms and talk freely without bothering all your follows.
