I'm in my late 40s with adult kids and young grandchildren. After decades of full-time work and stress, I finally had time for myself but became exhausted for nearly a year. This made me realize how much long-term stress has impacted me.

Currently on sabbatical, I’m working toward self-employment. If that doesn’t work and I return to a traditional job, I’ve decided to prioritize less stress over higher pay. I’ll either take a lower-paying role with minimal responsibility or demand premium compensation if they want my full expertise.

I'm not worried about finding a client either way. Someone always says "Yes," to the premium prices if I have to go that route -- I just don't want to anymore.

Life is really short.
