Bezos is absolutely an inspiration.
the closing paragraph to this article is sickening:
“While Bezos's financial achievements may seem beyond reach, they serve as a testament to the power of vision, innovation and persistence. His story offers hope and inspiration, reminding people that with dedication and strategic thinking, significant achievements are possible.”
🤮
there’s nothing “inspiring” about someone earning what the average worker earns over an entire career “in just under 13 minutes”

I guess I find the wild, rampant accumulation of filthy riches at breakneck speeds - while billions in the world barely scrape by on $1 a day wages - sickening
but that’s just me
He didn't steal it from the have nots... He earned it with innovation that saves people millions and increased productivity of all who use it by insane amounts.
Not to mention blue origin which is wildly more important than anything anyone else is doing.
I’m with slim on this one - bezos inspires the heck out of me
You should absolutely listen to his conversation with Lex. Hella inspirational.
I saw the thumbnail and nearly gagged…but i’ll give it a go, on your recommendation
I have a romanticized viewpoint on the word, “Inspire”/“Inspiration”
the absence of theft doesn’t therefore translate to automatic vindication
and Im more looking at Bezos the person, not Amazon
take this paragraph into account:
“Despite criticism over his relatively low philanthropic giving compared to his net worth, Bezos has begun to increase his charitable contributions. In 2020, he committed $10 billion to the Bezos Earth Fund to combat climate change and has made donations to various causes including education and homelessness.”
the title already establishes that he made ~$8B an hour every hour last year
$10B is an insult
building bitcoin mines in Africa is inspiring;
fighting for racial justice against all odds is inspiring;
pretty much anything where you devote more of a percentage of your time/energy/money (especially more than 60 mins) is an inspiration
