Here in Australia we already have instant payments, takes the same time as sending a zap.
Straight from my bank to my friends email address or phone number connected to their bank or vice versa. I'm always perplexed that USA doesn't have this, why they're still using checks and don't seem to use debit always paying with credit instead.
