I think society is going to fall apart before any state is able to secede

They don't need currency, because they have money: gold, silver and bitcoin.

Gold, silver and bitcoin are money. Everything else is credit, or currency.

But the Federal government has grown too big for individual states to have any sovereignty. Like Petoria in Family Guy.

The State has a precious metal repository and legislation to issue a gold-back digital currency narrowly failed last session
