I can help you tomorrow if you'd like. it's not overwhelming if you are single user, you can set up thresholds to purge after for messages and media and I don't see you joining rooms like matrix HQ. but in running your own you will lose access to the channel most of us are in (including graf gf) because it's restricted to poast homeserver enjoyers only
