Great points and ones all should consider when weighing their options. My father was also telling me it's not a good idea for constant long travel... though I'm unsure how reliable that assessment is 🤷‍♂️

Although if it is hybrid can't u just top it up with gas when u run low?

The hybrids I've looked at can only go short distance on electric (e.g. 30-60 miles). This makes them fine if you are doing short daily driving around town (dropping off/picking up kids at a school, grocery shopping), but for anything beyond half the range away, you're just toting the added weight around and relying on ICE to generate.

I have relatives that have a hybrid that works great for them. But they are retired, live in a flat area and all their basic needs are within 2 to 3 miles of home. They will never drive the vehicle enough to recover the added cost paid up front, but they like it and think it's good for the environment.

Awesome points thank you for your honest and expounding on that.
