Clearly what has happened to CZ is not a vulnerability in Signal, he has probably had his phone hacked and had access to his data or there is a mole.

However, it is important to understand the flaws in Signal that can lead to targeting:

- Centralized servers

- Metadata collection

- Not anonymous, requires a phone number.

Simplex solves all these problems:

- Decentralized and you can set up your own receiving server or as many as you want for each contact.

- No user IDs, a new identity is generated for each contact or group, which makes metadata collection complicated.

- It is anonymous.

Information privacy is becoming increasingly important, but there doesn't seem to be a very mature solution yet. Perhaps Simplex is worth a try. However, do you think it's necessary for ordinary people to spend a considerable cost to solve information privacy? I feel that the awareness of institutions and freedom and one's own privacy protection laws are more effective. #[0]

Laws are useless, it is the state the main interested in spying on you, freedom and privacy are born from the individual, it is your duty to know how to use the right tools.
