Good luck. Im looking into certs as well after a sobering talk with someone who worked as a tech recruter. I guess field experience doesn't seem to matter.

Thank you, Enki. I am not far off from passing. I just took a practice test with no study to see. Hopefully, knock it out over these next few weeks!

Yeah, the certs are def boxes they check. What certs are you looking into?

I want / need net+ and sec+ as well. I thought 5 years working in an ITAR envroment (as the only on site IT staff to boot) would be well recived but without certs I hardly get call backs for helpdesk jobs. 😑

Ugh that is frustrating Sorry to hear that, Enki. I imagine that neither test will be a big hurdle for you. Did recruiters say net+ and sec+? Personally I have heard just focus on sec+ first as that seems to be industry standard. Lmk if you would like study resources, I have a narrowed down list that I like 🫂🤙

Also might be good to contact nostr:npub1jaxs73m0zadd7fkwmkef73srdpfkxs6krwdhvkp0axzefqlsrpuqcvsjkt she has an agency helping people find jobs (I plan on doing this soon too 💜)

Sec+ will take the most study time for me. But it seems to be the most valuable. The recruter just said that a lot of the time when they get a stack (well a virtual stack lol) they just search keywords and certs are one of them.

You got this 💪🫂🤙

You to. Good luck!

Good luck👍

thank you!!!

Depends on the market, I think certs are useless because people will study for them and are able to pass, but don't have any fundamental knowledge.
