Sad agreed. What do we think the problem is? Myself i just don't find podcasts interesting so never listen. Maybe i haven't found the right one?

Fountain does not show statistics for how many listeners used the platform as it’s just a front end for Spotify, so I don’t know for sure, but I guess most people use traditional platforms rather than Fountain. Plus Spotify banned Russian IPs, which are around 15% of my audience, so looks like those who don’t use vpn simply give up and listen to something else.

Another theory is my audience are hard core HODLers 😂

I was just discussing this with #[2]​ on his show over the weekend. The old model of ads pays way better than people do. Business customers pay more than consumers.

My show is seeing similarly low volume of sats inflow. #v4v is a great concept and I would like for it to work. We need to figure out how. #zapvertising is one interesting idea.

Talked about the same thing in context of #Nostr and it’s monetization options. Ads seem to inevitably enter the space. Our guess is there always will be people willing to listen to ads and even don’t mind sharing their personal data (or maybe do it without realizing it). The ones willing to regularly support the client devs will be a minority having a luxury of ad free feeds.

I think nostr enables lots of novel solutions, keep up your great work guys, we'll keep experimenting and will figure it out together!

Businesses spend their costumer's money on ads to raise sale and earnings from more costumers.

Podcast listeners spend their hard earned sats exactly for the content itself.

Totally different universes.

#V4v is the real value the content provides for the users. Harsh truth. And people don't yet get the value of information provided by the content. Cause they can't calculate the value it creats in their own life. Businesses do work numbers and profit.

#Number_awareness will be the key to success and future.

Yet we all sucked at math at some level in our education.
