to illustrate the 'shared to community' posts on #nostrudel not showing in #amethyst but instead appearing as a bo0st, these posts don't shop up at all on amethyst within the community (they have been approved by a mod).

any help would be much appreciated :)

ohh interesting. So noStrudel makes the Repost event a community Post and not the original post. Very cool, I just was not expecting it. Ideally, you would just submit the original post part of the community.

Yeah I just noticed the feature the other day and it nice and handy, but yeah workaround is making a new post to share as normal.

noStrudel creates a kind:6 event that has an "a" tag for the community. It probably should be a kind:16 so it doesn't show up in a users timeline but I have not had a chance to update it yet

What do you mean by "the original post", do you mean just copying the contents of the original event and making a new event with the communities "a" tag?

Yeah sorry, I'm not very clear (mostly cos I have no idea what is going on or how to talk about it lol).

I just mean copy pasting the note id and make post in the community

No, I misspoke.

I thought we had a new event kind just to send existing posts for approval. But we didn't write in the NIP. Moderators can approve any post, but there is no special kind for any other user to send posts for moderation. Then the use of the Repost is perfect. I am just not sure if I show reposts in a community at all. I will fix it soon enough.

But yes, the Generic Repost will make it disappear from the main timeline.
