The phone issue is tricky.

Opensource Android is a thing, but is dependent on jailbroken hardware.

Libre Phone and some others exist, but are pretty substandard, last time I saw. Time and money will probably fix this.

Shifting away from the conveniences of mobile is an obvious answer. Just run Linux on a PC. It would be nice to see Linux focus on usability for the masses, as it has some difficult barriers to entry.

Inconvenient tech is a hard sell, though, even in a slight way. Anyone can use a webapp on a phone, but people can't see past the playstore.

We need to do the work and explain to normies how they are being censored and why they should care. Edward Snowden would be rolling in his grave had the CIA been able to kill him 😆
