Simple, quick & rough guide to stream on Nostr
1. Login into zap.stream with your npub
-preferably login via an extension like Alby, Nos2x, NWC, etc but can just use your raw nsec (extension is better for security&privacy)
2. Tap 'Stream', fill in what info you want like a title, summary, image, etc. Keep other default settings for now
3. Located at top, copy 'Get Stream Key'
- will need this to connect your video to stream site. Also note the server URL name in 'Settings'
boom. Halfway there.
4. Download OBS
- https://obsproject.com/
5. In dropdown menu on OBS, open settings , click stream
- you will enter the zap .stream credentials you copied from the site here in 'stream key'. Usually the key is hidden from plain view when copied, its there.
6. Click on Service and select 'Custom'. Paste stream key and the server URL(which looks something like "r ) here. Click OK in bottom
7. Verify what you want to stream on the slower left, then Click "Start Streaming" on lower right side of main OBS window.
🏁Done!
✅You should be all set! Double check what you sharing whatever you want to stream (apps, specific windows, connected devices, etc)
