i never thought bitcoiners were this vulnerable to a narrative takeover from wall street, big banks & the us government

but all it took was a significant pump and an illusion of benevolence/friendliness: now too many guys put on suits and talk like the bankers they used to pretend to hate

2024 alone had been horrible for privacy and self-custody. but as long as the number keeps going up, the large majority is happy while those of us who actually think end up drowning in a sea of foolish optimism

fuck 2024, fuck your etfs, fuck your institutional adoption. this is not why most of us came here, we were supposed to start a revolution and replace fiat money – not enable an instrument that maintains the hegemony of the petrodollar

STAY HUMBLE AND STACK SATS /s

How did you expect this to play out?

Why would you expect this NOT to happen as a new money becomes money?

Serious questions.

Many Bitcoiners had fiat stuck in retirement accounts. Their hard earned money, taken out of paycheck against their will and dumped into the instruments that maintain the hegemony of petrodollar. Being able to channel those funds into etfs and at least take advantage of price action was not too bad actually. I'm not cheering but I'm also not too upset about it.

Chill bro, the revolution will make a lot of victims, both sides. The fact is 2024 was the best year for Bitcoin reaching the normies. ETF's , the institutional adoption and the orange man are nothing less then the organic growth stage Bitcoin have to cross in order to evolve. You think you can onboard everybody and their mothers preaching about privacy and self-custody? This is not a sprint, it's an ironman
