Did you realize that marriage, if you write or sign anything by doing it, is in fact a contract with the government or church? You are contracting them to interfere into your and your spouse's relations primarily under the conditions defined in the contract, but actually unconditionally, because state and church can change the governing law unilaterally anyway they want.
