Invidious and piped instances to the rescue then. Not always working (well), but often servisable.
Youtube... it feels like the adds are longer than the content you want to watch. Esp. when there is a sponsor section interrupted with uninterruptable section of several long and much louder ads. They really want you to pay (which is fair enough), but it has reached comical level.
