Not really.
Spam will increasingly grow as nostr grows.
Already pretty „spamy“. Clients probably have to implement features to adept for that.
The best design is not to have re-post like coracle.
Second best is to have re-posts as opt-in.
Third best is an option to opt out of re-post functionality.
And I replied to the wrong thread.
Yes, apps and relays play a cat and mouse battle with spam.
Won‘t it also be moral thing. Deciding what is spam and what is no spam, like what’s a truth and what’s a lie?
If you post the same message 100 times in 10 seconds its clear.
51% (of miner capacity) attack is attack on the combined Bitcoin sha256 ASIC hash power. Nostr does not have any form of mining so it is not relevant.
Yea i meant it more symbolically. Like what is the achilles heel of #nostr.
I don't think there's any.
In Bitcoin, 51% means owning the consensus of the network. Nostr needs no consensus. A note only needs to be stored by one relay to be delivered. Relays don't have to "agree" that you were the one who wrote that note because we don't have a "double spent problem".
For me the toughest challenge for the network is to be adopted by normies. We somehow need nostr to be more convenient and better-looking than centralized platforms with tons of cash.
