Is this about the fact that they include that switch, or that it’s on by default, or something else? I’d be interested to see what that looks like on other hardware… do other companies even give you an option?

Independent of other OS, Apple serving ads is opposite to protecting privacy, in my view.

Was digging in settings for something else and was surprised to find this.

Ah, yeah, I suppose that’s true. Apple doesn’t always act in a way that’s consistent with what they say.
