I think the study of Science and Technology has really caused a clash between what the individual human in the free market wants and what a human central authority wants for society…& unfortunately themselves.

Technology (mostly a free market tool) has allowed development in Sciences that have helped humans live longer but the parts of academia and the economy that has been captured by institutions (who control the money) have failed to keep up with natural human free market progress.

As a result this imbalance has resulted in war, poverty and other human atrocities.

When the money facilities a perfect exchange of value between peers…there will be human growth, progression and prosperity.
